VT KnowledgeWorks invites you to be a host family for this year’s Global Partnership Week, August 16-22, 2015. Rounding up enough host families for our group of eager, global university students seems to be the most challenging component each year, so we would appreciate you joining our team of hosts or referring us to others who may be interested.

Each day our global guests are tied up in various activities and events that we plan for them, so we mostly need hosts to provide lodging, some meals (like breakfast every morning), and transportation assistance in the mornings and evenings.  In return, we invite hosts to some of our celebratory meals throughout the week and a chance to win a Hotel Roanoke overnight stay with meals.

The VT KnowledgeWorks Global Partnership Week offers university students and faculty from all over the world a chance to collaborate, form partnerships, build their global networks, and congregate in Blacksburg and Roanoke.  The Student Track celebrates the energy and ingenuity of university students and their important contributions to the global economy by means of the Global Student Entrepreneurship Challenge. The Challenge provides a unique opportunity for students to compete globally for a $25,000 grand prize and VT KnowledgeWorks trophy.  While in Blacksburg, the teams are housed with local families, spend interactive time with successful technology companies, enjoy fellowship with Virginia Tech students, and attend a formal awards banquet.

Here are the details about being a host family, Sunday, August 16 – Saturday, August 22, 2015.
