VT KnowledgeWorks Global Partnership

Global Student Entrepreneurship Challenge
8:00 a.m. – 4:15 p.m., Thursday, August 18
Alumni Assembly Hall, The Inn at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg
Tickets free; register by August 10

Observe teams from all over the world present their business ideas for a $25,000 grand prize and trophy.  Read about this year’s 15th finalist team, winner of the Global Challenge Virtual Preliminary.
University teams will be competing for:

  • $10,000 Plastics One Advanced Manufacturing Award for the outstanding tangible product
  • $10,000 VT KnowledgeWorks Information Technology Award for the outstanding intangible product or service
  • $15,000 grand prize for one of the two teams that receive the Advanced Manufacturing Award or the Information Technology Award
  • $5,000 People’s Choice Award sponsored by Virginia Tech’s Outreach and International Affairs

Expand your global network and come meet the finalists and winning teams of the Global Student Entrepreneurship Challenge!  Enjoy unique food from the Roanoke and New River Valleys, as well as live performances by regional artists, like the Blue Ridge Mtn. VT KnowledgeWorks Global Partnership Event offers university students and faculty from all over the world a chance to collaborate, form partnerships, build their global networks, and congregate in Blacksburg and Roanoke, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.  Members of the partnership gather annually to celebrate student entrepreneurship hosted by VT KnowledgeWorks, Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center,Virginia Tech, and citizens and businesses of the Roanoke-Blacksburg region.
