The Sixth Annual VT KnowledgeWorks Global Partnership Week was a great success, providing a unique opportunity for over 50 university students and faculty from all over the world a chance to collaborate and initiate their personal global networks through learning, socialization, and friendly competition in Blacksburg and Roanoke, Virginia. Three finalist teams were awarded $45,000 in cash prizes to encourage their entrepreneurial endeavors and over 250 regional participants supported the event in some way, including 29 sponsors, 25 host families, and 13 regional technology companies who provided coaching support to teams.
During this week-long celebration of entrepreneurship, student teams from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, England, France, Italy, Mexico, Switzerland, and Thailand competed in the Global Student Entrepreneurship Challenge for a $25,000 grand prize and the VT KnowledgeWorks Global Challenge Trophy.
