The facility encompasses over 85,000 square feet and offers in-house design engineering, research and development, a state of the art toolroom, diverse plastic injection molding, assembly and packaging services. The quality management system subjects products to rigorous inspection before they are shipped to the customer. Plastics One also has nine ISO Class 8, 100,000 Cleanrooms with two ISO Class 7, 10,000 Cleanrooms which are utilized for molding, assembly and packaging parts for the medical device industry.

A $25,000 grant from Plastics One Inc. will provide a $10,000 scholarship stipend to the most outstanding tangible product at the VT KnowledgeWorks Global Challenge Semifinals in April, as well as a $15,000 cash award at the Global Student Entrepreneurship Challenge in August, again for the most outstanding tangible product concept.
The VT KnowledgeWorks Global Partnership Week offers university students and faculty from all over the world a chance to collaborate, form partnerships, build their global networks, and congregate in Blacksburg and Roanoke, Virginia, USA. The Global Partnership is an ongoing cooperative association of regions building permanent social and academic relationships with each other, for mutual long-term advantage. Members of the partnership gather annually during a week-long Global Partnership event hosted by VT KnowledgeWorks, Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center, Virginia Tech, and citizens and businesses of the Roanoke-Blacksburg region.
