UIU Link Achieves Donna Noble Incubator Client Award

UIU Link

UIU Link, a faculty-to-student-friendly Virginia-based company and a VT KnowledgeWorks member, was honored with the Donna Noble Incubator Client Award for 2014 at the Virginia Business Incubation Association’s (VBIA) annual conference on November 3. UIU Link serves as the national and international brokerage house for traditional online accredited higher educational courses from accredited non-profit and private colleges and universities. Through their proprietary platform, universities and their faculty have the ability to seek and enjoy additional revenue sources and enrollment enrichment by sharing their online classroom course seat availability to prospective students from other colleges or universities who may need a replacement course to continue towards their degree.

The VBIA Board of Directors established the Donna Noble Incubator Client Award in 2001 in honor of one of its founding board members, Donna Noble, who passed away on May 29, 2001, at the age of 36. As the marketing manager for Incubator AMERICA in Arlington, Virginia, Noble was dedicated to the incubation industry and to promoting entrepreneurship.

Other VT KnowledgeWorks alumni members who spoke at this year’s conference included Michael Fleming, CEO of TORC Robotics and recipient of the 2008 Donna Noble Incubator Client Award, as well as Nanci Hardwick, CEO of Aeroprobe. In light of this year’s conference theme, “Virginia Innovates,” both Fleming and Hardwick highlighted the innovative technology successes TORC Robotics and Aeroprobe have achieved respectively.
