The Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center (VTCRC) is a for-profit, wholly-owned, private subsidiary of the Virginia Tech Foundation. The VTCRC collaborates with Virginia Tech to advance the research, educational and technology transfer missions of the university. Currently, more than 150 research, technology and support companies employ over 2,700 employees in the park’s 29 buildings with an expansion in the works. The VTCRC was the award recipient for the “Outstanding Research Park” in 2010 by the Association of University Research Parks.
At the VT KnowledgeWorks Building in the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center, student teams from all over the world, who previously attended the VT KnowledgeWorks Global Partnership Week, have the opportunity to obtain free summer work space to pursue their business concepts.

The VT KnowledgeWorks Global Partnership Week offers university students and faculty from all over the world a chance to collaborate, form partnerships, build their global networks, and congregate in Blacksburg and Roanoke, Virginia. During this week-long celebration, elite student teams compete in a Global Student Business Concept Challenge as they pitch their business ideas for a $25,000 prize.
