  • 9:00 – 9:15 a.m. Welcome Address by Dr. Ben Knapp, Director of the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology (ICAT) and Professor of Computer Science at Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech faculty, staff, students, and/or alumni will compete in the Tech Transfer Challenge.  Hoping to establish a new venture in Blacksburg using their Virginia Tech owned technology, the teams will compete to win $100,000 worth of mentorship and business support services.

Virginia Tech student teams will compete in the Student Business Concept Competition for $10,000 in scholarships, start-up services, and the opportunity to compete on a world stage In August, 2013 for the $25,000 VT KnowledgeWorks Global Challenge Award during the VT KnowledgeWorks Global Partnership Week.
