Invitation to Be a Global Host Family During Global Partnership Week

From Lindsey Eversole, Global Partnership Manager, VT KnowledgeWorks:

We would like to encourage anyone who is considering being a host family this year and in the future.  We have done it every year now and intend to continue doing it in the future.  In fact, we were told last year that we are now considered to be the University of Trento in Blacksburg, which we consider to be a real compliment.

The reason that we do it is that we have have a lot of fun with the teams.  They are mature graduate students from another country who are very talented and interesting to talk to.  The intrusions are minimal and last only a week, but the cultural stimulation is deep and can last for a long time.  We have been invited to visit them many times and last year met one of their faculty members who had dinner with all of us.  In short, it is a fun experience that we thoroughly enjoy.
