VT KnowledgeWorks Announces Statewide Entrepreneurship Alliance

The VT KnowledgeWorks Entrepreneurship Alliance will assist communities throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia with the encouragement and empowerment of local initiatives that foster economic growth through innovation.  Under this new program, VT KnowledgeWorks will provide an entrepreneurship event and curriculum package, on-going consultation, and promotional resources to selected community economic development organizations throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The program includes assistance with organizational development and leadership recruiting for the local organization, and an on-going colleague/mentor relationship with the local top manager.  The product and service bundle to be available at each location includes the full range of services offered at VT KnowledgeWorks in Blacksburg, Virginia and will continue to evolve and expand as the offering changes at the Blacksburg home location.  The top leadership from all alliance locations will serve as a steering committee to select and prioritize expanded and updated program components.
The first Virginia community to join this new alliance is Danville, Virginia.  With the help of a $10 million grant from the Danville Regional Foundation, and its alliance with VT KnowledgeWorks, the Southside Business Technology Center is transforming itself into a full spectrum entrepreneurship center called The Launch Place.  News of this exciting initiative can be found at Virginia Business.
