VT KnowledgeWorks, a regional business acceleration center that helps companies bring ideas to market, is excited to present the Fourth Annual Entrepreneurship Challenge on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at the Skelton Conference Center at The Inn at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.  This full-day informative workshop is designed for prospective company founders, entrepreneurs launching or re-vamping a business, and individuals interested in investing in early-stage companies. Register now!

AGENDA

Welcome Address

The day begins at 9:00 a.m. with a welcome address delivered by Tom Weithman of CIT GAP Funds followed by two business concept competitions, with one session before lunch and one after.

Business Concept Competitions

Finalist Teams from both the Student Business Concept Competition and Open Business Concept Competition will take the stage at 9:30 a.m. and pitch their business concepts throughout the day. Student teams compete for $10,000 in scholarships and the opportunity to compete on a world stage in August, 2012 for the $25,000 VT KnowledgeWorks Global Challenge Award. Local entrepreneurs compete for $5,000 in start-up services from VT KnowledgeWorks.

Keynote Address

Join us for lunch at 12:00 p.m. to hear Mike Drzal with LeClairRyan deliver the Keynote Address: "Raising Capital: The Fundraising Toolbox."  Read Mike Drzal's Three Fundamental Tools in The Fundraising Toolbox.

Business Concept Competitions resume at 1:30 p.m.

Networking Reception and Awards Presentation

The day concludes with a networking reception from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., where winners of the competitions are announced and awarded their prizes! Catered by The Inn at Virginia Tech, this reception will provide the opportunity to build on the business relationships and connections made throughout the day.

Thanks to our generous Challenge Sponsors, CIT and LeClairRyan, the fees for this all-day event, including competitions, luncheon, awards presentation and reception, are only $30 for students and $50 for non-students.
