From Artbeating:

The Artbeating’s magic

Artbeating is an online creative marketplace which promotes students’ skills and creativity in communication, product, fashion and interior design as well as CGI animation. Brands can submit their brief to the community through a rewarding contest. It enables students not only to get a wide range of creative solutions but also worthy references to start their careers. Artbeating also provides information and various collaborative tools in order to enhance their opportunity to win and thus become essential to their day-to-day artist life. VTKW Global Student Challenge Team from Paris, France

A growth market with compelling needs

Our business idea was built up in light of two observations :

  • Brands' endless need for creative solutions
  • Creativity is the new mantra for a brand's image: renewing a brand or product image is the best way to improve the visibility of a business, especially in the eyes of customers.

How to Stand Out as a Young Designer?

With the abundance of agencies and freelancers that are populating the design market, the difficulty for a young creative talent is to make his mark and rise above the mass. In this way, Artbeating supports tomorrow’s designers today!

The pursuit of mentors

Our concept inception came into being one year ago, in August 2009, while Romain and Martin where coming back from a concert in Paris, with this idea running around inside their head : « There are so much great talents out there and they can’t break into the art scene ! ».

Months have passed, the team has been set up and the concept evolved. The best mentor support was then to take part to in business concept challenges so as to strengthen our business idea.

  • Concours Petit Poucet 2010 (December 2009 – January 2010)
  • National student competition organized by the Business Development Center « Petit Poucet ». We have finished among the 30 finalists about 250 projects which allowed us to spend a helpful half-day mentoring with Mathias Monribot, president of Petit Poucet.
  • Challenge Projets d’Entreprendre 2010 (April 2010)
  • Local student competition organized by the Business Development Center « Telecom SudParis Entrepreneurs ».
  • We have won among 56 teams composed of 5 o 6 students coming from Telecom Business School and two Engineering School : Telecom SudParis and ENSIIE. Thanks to this business plan competition, Artbeating has got into « Telecom SudParis Entrepreneurs » in June 2010 and has been enjoying the mentoring services from then on. The team has also won its ticket for the VT KnowledgeWorks Global Student Business Concept Challenge and will try to take home the winning team trophy!

Our team’s got moxie!

Artbeating team members are Romain LAUWERIER and Martin HOUDBINE from Telecom Business School, Perrine IZABELLE, Mathieu LIMA and Charles-ERIC GORRON from Telecom SudParis, and Hugo LEPETIT from ENSIIE.

We all have one year left until we get our graduate degree, with different focuses of study : Digital Media Art & Technology (Perrine and Mathieu), Strategic Management (Romain and Martin) and Information System (Charles-Eric and Hugo).

Given that the team is a key factor to succeed in an entrepreneurial project, our friendship and the synergy between our skills make us believe in the success of Artbeating!

Good luck to Team Artbeating!
