Five Ready-to-Fund Companies Will Present to Angel Investors

From Jim Flowers:

On Thursday, March 26, five ready-to-fund companies were chosen from across the Eastern seaboard to present before three of the top angel groups in the United States at CVG LiveFire!™.  The event is the afternoon segment of the VT KnowledgeWorks Entrepreneurship Summit to be held at The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center on April 2.  It will be moderated by the Virginia Active Angel Network (VAAN) in Alumni Assembly Hall.

This is a must-see event for prospective investors interested in learning how the professionals look at early investment opportunities, and is critical for entrepreneurs who want to know exactly what investing angel groups look for today! This year’s panelists represent three of the top angel groups, including New York Angels, Private Investors Forum and Virginia Active Angel Network.

McNeill Designs for Brighter Minds, Inc., ContraVac, Inc., StarChase, LLC, Gladhandle, and Health Diagnostic Laboratory, Inc. will present their businesses and engage in thought-provoking Q&A from the panelists and before an audience of businesses, entrepreneurs, educators, students and other investors.  McNeill Designs for Brighter Minds, Inc. is poised to launch a series of innovative board, card, and electronic games “designed to help create brighter minds.”  ContraVac, Inc. provides leadership, education, and innovation in male reproductive healthcare with revolutionary products that promise accuracy, efficiency and accessibility.

StarChase, LLC offers a commercial off-the-shelf solution called a StarChase system comprised of a miniature GPS receiver, radio transmitter and power supply encased in a tracking projectile, and a launcher which can be hand-held or mounted on a police vehicle.  Gladhandle is a breakthrough communication manager that gives users the power to send branded media and personalized follow-ups with rapid-fire simplicity. Health Diagnostic Laboratory, Inc. is a fully CAP/CLIA accredited clinical laboratory with a unique approach to mitigating the understanding and treatment of cardiac disease, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and fatty liver disease.

The VT KnowledgeWorks Entrepreneurship Summit is a comprehensive workshop custom designed for prospective company founders and entrepreneurs launching or re-vamping a business, and growing companies seeking expansion capital.  The Summit will run from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., including The Basics of Successful Entrepreneurship Workshop led by Jim Flowers, Director of VT KnowledgeWorks, and author of MOXIE and other fundamental entrepreneurial concepts, as well as a Student Business Concept Competition.  The Summit luncheon with keynote speaker and late afternoon reception provide additional opportunities for attendees to network.
