Entrepreneurship Summit – You Have a High Chance of Being Chosen

For entrepreneurs seeking angel investor funding, the deadline for submission of applications to compete to be one of the five companies to present at CVG’s Live Fire! ™ has been extended to midnight, Wednesday, March 11, 2009.

The inaugural VT KnowledgeWorks Entrepreneurship Summit will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009, in Blacksburg, Virginia, and will feature CVG’s LiveFire! ™ during an afternoon session.

I received this e-mail from the screening committee of the Charlottesville Venture Group (CVG) in affiliation with the Virginia Active Angels Network (VAAN).

Note the sections I highlighted.

Thank you for your submission to CVG's (Charlottesville Venture Group) "Live Fire!" program at the VT KnowledgeWorks Entrepreneurship Summit in Blacksburg, VA on April 2, 2009.

There was some confusion in the dates listed on the CVG web site (www.cville-venture.org) so we are now going with the later date, March 11, 2009, which constitutes "3 weeks" prior to the event. You may now change, up-load more, or otherwise add or up-date your current submission until March 11 at midnight.

CVG will be getting back to you when all submissions have been made and within the five days after the deadline. Thank you for your patience!  We have 10 companies thus far that have submitted and since we choose 5, you have a very high chance of being chosen. Please make sure NOW that your travel schedule will allow you to be in Blacksburg, VA on April 2, 2009 all day. If you cannot, please let the screening committee know via this system by sending an email indicating your inability.

After the 5 companies are chosen, you still have an opportunity to be chosen for two more CVG "Live Fire!" Spring 2009 events that have not yet been finalized at two other Virginia institutions. We look forward to hearing from you and if you have any questions, please email right away.

The inaugural VT KnowledgeWorks Entrepreneurship Summit will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009, in Blacksburg, Virginia.

During the CVG’s LiveFire! ™ session in the afternoon of the Summit, five companies selected as pitch-worthy by the Charlottesville Venture Group (CVG), in affiliation with the Virginia Active Angels Network (VAAN), will pitch in public, answer questions in public, listen to the angel investors express pros – and cons – in public, right there in front of an auditorium full of 100 silent, scrutinizing audience members.

"No one's feelings are spared and no question is out of line."

The auditorium only has 100 seats.  If you want to be a member of that silent, scrutinizing audience, you might want to register now.
