Schultz-Creehan Awarded Contract to Develop Aircraft Landing Pad

From VT KnowledgeWorks member company Schultz-Creehan Holdings, LLC:

High-tech research and development engineering firm Schultz-Creehan LLC has been awarded a contract with global security and technology leader Northrop Grumman Corporation.   Drawing on their materials characterization and selection capabilities, Schultz-Creehan, along with Virginia Tech, will address specific challenges associated with high temperatures on Naval landing pads to improve their sustainability.

During its initial phase, Schultz-Creehan will be involved with an intense research and testing process to identify candidate composite materials for the landing pads which can tolerate extreme exhaust conditions.  Combinations of these substances will then be simulated using a thermal model to determine the best solution for the landing pad material.

When the ideal solutions have been identified, Schultz-Creehan will continue its research by manufacturing demonstration panels and perform testing on the variations. A thorough cost analysis will then be prepared in order to deliver the most cost-effective and quality solution to the client.

Through the achievement of this contract with Northrop Grumman, Schultz-Creehan will demonstrate its ability to address complex issues and develop innovative solutions for even the most sizeable companies and difficult challenges.  Their expertise and commitment to exceed expectations allows them to attract and retain interesting clients and projects such as the Naval landing pad project with Northrop Grumman.

Northrop Grumman Corporation is a leading global security company whose 120,000 employees provide innovative systems, products, and solutions in aerospace, electronics, information systems, shipbuilding and technical services to government and commercial customers worldwide.
