From Laureen Fleming, Operations Manager at Automation Creations, Inc., and a member of Presidents' Council, a business acceleration and technology incubator program of VT KnowledgeWorks:
When Anne Clelland announced the upcoming New River Valley Triathlon during one of our Presidents' Council meetings, it intrigued me.
I love to swim, but do not get to go often. My husband and closest friend are both very physically active. I thought this might be a wonderful way to combine relationships, physical activity, and fun!
By creating our own triathlon relay team and pulling from our strengths (my friend has been running for about 3 years and competing in other 5K races), I thought this could really work. An added incentive is my upcoming 40th birthday. I thought, "What better way to begin my 40s than training for a triathlon with friends and family?"
