About the Technology Showcase, Ask Lindsey

When I need help with being a member company of business accelerator VT KnowledgeWorks, I ask Lindsey Eversole.

I needed help with exhibiting at the VT KnowledgeWorks Technology Showcase.  My question to Lindsey Eversole, Member Services Manager, was professional and specific:

What do I do?!

Lindsey kindly replied:

We are immensely excited about the VT KnowledgeWorks Technology Showcase on Friday, November 7, 2008 at the German Club Manor!  We encourage companies of the Virginia Tech Corporation Research Center, VT KnowledgeWorks, and the New River Valley community to take advantage of this inexpensive and convenient opportunity to introduce themselves to a carefully targeted group of potential clients, allies, employees, investors, and the press.  Admission to the event is open to all!

If you are thinking about exhibiting with a poster, table or booth display, please register before October 17th. There are three different ways to exhibit at the Technology Showcase, described below, in addition to a couple tips I recommend depending on your exhibit display.

1.  $50 – Poster Display:  This includes admission for one exhibitor, space to display a poster, inclusion on the Showcase exhibitor roster, logo display on the VT KnowledgeWorks website, and a box lunch.

My Advice:  Typically exhibitors have used the white, vinyl foamcore poster boards that are 36” wide by 48” high to display at the Technology Showcase.  This offers a great display because the poster is large, visible, professional-looking, and the material is durable if you decide to reuse the poster for another event.  SignSpot always seems to be stocked with these posters and they are incredibly timely, creative, and print superbly. Their contact information is [email protected] (540) 961-7768

If you need an easel to display your poster at the Showcase we would be happy to let you use one of ours.   Just let us know when you register online

2. $100 – Table Display:  This includes admission for two exhibitors, space for table display, inclusion on the Showcase exhibitor roster, logo display on the VT KnowledgeWorks website, and box lunches.

My Advice:  If you are thinking about registering for a table display, sign up immediately!  Reserving a table is on a first-come, first-served basis, so register as soon as possible to guarantee the table size on which you prefer to exhibit.  The options include six and five foot tables and five foot round tables. Once you register, I will follow-up with you immediately regarding your table size preference.

3. $250 – Booth Display:  This includes admission for two exhibitors, space for booth display, inclusion on the Showcase exhibitor roster, logo display on the VT KnowledgeWorks website, and box lunches.

My Advice:  Please let us know when you register online how much space you require for your booth and whether or not you need power so that we can provide you the optimum space for your exhibit.  Doors are open at 9 a.m. to exhibitors for set up and the event begins at 11:30 a.m.

You can also register online for additional exhibitor entry tickets at $25 per person.

If you would like to attend VT KnowledgeWorks Technology Showcase, you can purchase admission tickets online in the amount of $35 per person on or before November 1!  If you are one of the first 50 students to sign up, admission is free!
